FPV filming in London & England

Drone videography
FAQ

FPV Cinelab is based in Harrow, London and provides professional drone videography across Greater London and throughout England.

FPV basics

FPV stands for First Person View. It uses a small, agile drone controlled through a live video feed to create continuous movement through and around a location.

That makes it effective for property, hotels, hospitality, venues, construction, commercial spaces and branded video.

An FPV fly-through is a continuous video journey through a property, building or venue. It can show how exterior and interior spaces connect rather than presenting separate shots.

Conventional camera drones are primarily used for smooth exterior aerial shots. FPV can also travel through buildings and confined spaces, and can be combined with conventional aerial filming where a project benefits from both.

Indoor and outdoor

Yes. Compact FPV drones can travel through rooms, corridors and suitable doorways where a conventional camera drone would be impractical. Every location is assessed to plan an appropriate route.

Yes, where the location and conditions make it safe and practical. An FPV flight can approach from outside, enter through a suitable opening and continue through the interior; the route is planned before the final flight.

Yes, depending on the environment, aircraft and planned flight. Any sequence involving people is planned carefully around the location and potential obstacles.

Indoor flights are planned around the location, people and potential obstacles. Small protected-propeller drones can be suitable for many indoor environments; the aircraft and route are selected for the project.

FPV drones can fly through suitable doors, openings and, in some circumstances, windows. Whether a transition is appropriate depends on the opening, obstacles, people, wind and aircraft; the route is planned before the final flight.

A commercial fly-through can require route planning, multiple rehearsals and takes, precise indoor flying, stabilisation, colour grading, sound design and editing. Complex one-take sequences can need more preparation than conventional aerial establishing shots.

Yes. Capture-only FPV drone filming starts from £300 and can suit production companies, agencies and videographers with their own post-production workflow.

A residential property can often be filmed in approximately 1–2 hours. Hotels, venues and larger commercial spaces may require 2–3 hours or longer depending on size, flight complexity and required sequences.

Please send the location, type and approximate size of the space, what the video should achieve, intended use, preferred date and any key rooms or transitions. Photos, floor plans and existing links can help planning.

Delivery and social

Yes. 9:16 vertical video can be produced for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, alongside 16:9 versions for websites, YouTube and presentations. Formats and delivery timescales are agreed for each project.

Often, yes. A session can be planned to create a main film, vertical social edits, shorter clips and website content, depending on the selected package and project needs.

Yes. Logos, titles and simple branded elements can be incorporated during editing. More complex graphics and post-production can be quoted separately.

Commercial packages include commercial usage rights as specified in the project agreement. Unusual licensing, extensive paid advertising, third-party footage or special usage requirements can be agreed before production.

Insurance and permissions

Yes. FPV Cinelab carries £5m public liability insurance for commercial drone operations.

You usually need authority to allow filming at the property or venue. FPV Cinelab handles drone-operational planning for the agreed shoot, while any additional permissions or coordination are identified during planning.

Locations and travel

FPV Cinelab is based in Harrow, London. We provide FPV drone filming throughout Greater London and can travel throughout England for suitable projects.

Yes. Projects outside London are welcome. Travel requirements depend on the location and production scale and are included in the quotation where applicable.

London locations can include airports, restricted airspace, sensitive locations and densely populated areas, so each outdoor location is considered individually. Send us the location and we can assess the proposed shoot.

Inspections, thermal & mapping

Agreed roof areas, gutters, chimneys, façades, cladding and other hard-to-reach exterior features can be captured visually. Thermal and mapping capture can be included when suitable.

Avata 2 can suit basic visual capture. DJI Matrice 4T can be selected for thermal and zoom imaging, and Matrice 4E for mapping and photogrammetry, depending on the agreed site and output.

The agreed photographs, video and, where specified, processed thermal images, annotated PDF, orthomosaic or textured 3D model. Delivery timing is confirmed in the quote.

No. Drone capture provides visual evidence. Structural diagnosis, verified measurement and certified specialist interpretation require an appropriately qualified professional.

Each location is checked for airspace, access, nearby people, permissions and weather before a flight is confirmed.

Capture is the agreed flight and imagery. Processing can add an annotated PDF, thermal image pack, orthomosaic or 3D model; specialist reporting is quoted separately.

Look for a relevant showreel, controlled indoor or outdoor experience, location planning, appropriate aircraft, £5m public liability insurance and clear delivery formats. The best FPV pilot for your project is the one whose evidence and scope fit the brief.
